Closure of OPCW

The OPCW-UN Joint Mission in Syria, established on 16 October 2013, oversaw the timely elimination of the Syrian chemical weapons programme in the safest and most secure manner possible. Its mandate concluded on 30 September 2014, and the OPCW mission in Syria continues to deal with the destruction of chemical weapon production facilities.

Entire declared Syrian stockpile of Isopropanol is destroyed

20 May 2014 - The OPCW-UN Joint Mission confirms the destruction of the entire declared Syrian stockpile of Isopropanol.


Now 7.2 percent of Syria's chemical weapons material remains in country and awaits swift removal for onward destruction. The Joint Mission urges the Syrian authorities to undertake this task as soon as possible.

دمشق، 20 أيار 2014 – تؤكّد البعثة المشتركة لمنظمة حظر الأسلحة الكيميائية والأمم المتحدة أنّه قد تمّ تدمير كامل المخزون السوري المعلن عنه من الإيزوبروبانول.

ما زالت هنالك نسبة 7 بالمئة من مواد الأسلحة الكيميائية في البلاد بانتظار ترحيلها سريعاً بهدف تدميرها وتحثّ البعثة المشتركة السلطات السورية على إنجاز هذه المهمّة بأسرع وقت ممكن.
